SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

CATEGORIES (7): Drawing & Works on Paper, Graphic Design and Interactive Media, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture and Installation, Video and Photography, Mixed Media 

ELIGIBILITY: Entrants must be Drake students. All submissions must be original work produced by the student artist within the past two years and must have been produced while enrolled at Drake University. All work must be created in or for an Art & Design course at Drake University, unless the student is an Art& Design major and then they may submit work made outside of a course. 

AWARDS: Awards will be given at the juror’s discretion. The Provost Purchase Award and the President’s Office Gallery Loans will be selected by the Department of Art and Design Faculty.

ENTRY PROCEDURE

All entries must be submitted through ArtCall.org at this site: https://drakeajse54.artcall.or...

A total of four works may be submitted but no more than three in the same category.

You will need to submit quality images of your work so it can be judged accurately. If you need help photographing your work please contact an Art & Design Faculty.

You will need to make a user profile on ArtCall.org to begin and then you will be able to submit your entry. Each work you submit must be a unique entry on ArtCall. The juror will judge entries anonymously.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

    January 28- February 18, 2025
Complete an online submission on ArtCall for each piece you wish to enter. Submissions are due by 11:59 PM on Feb 18. 

ROUND ONE SELECTION

Friday, February 28 
A list of work that has made it to through to the first round will be posted outside the Art & Design Office and students will be informed via email. 

DELIVERY OF WORK FOR ROUND 2

To the Anderson Gallery:

Wednesday, March 5, 11 am - 5 pm

Thursday, March 6, 8:30 am - 1 pm

All works must be ready for hanging/presentation.

  • All two-dimensional works must be ready to hang and be presented professionally. This could be framed, mounted between Plexiglas and foam core, a canvas with wire etc. If you are having an issue finding an affordable and quality way to present your work please contact the Gallery Director or one of your faculty for assistance. 
  • Any content that is digital and needs to be projected or appear on a screen should be submitted on a USB flash drive in an mp4 format that is labeled with your name.

All works must be turned in with your printed out confirmation from ArtCall that will list your work ID Number and contact info.

Monday, March 10 Students whose work has been selected for inclusion in the show will be notified via email and a list of accepted woks will be posted outside the Art & Design Office. 

OPENING RECEPTION

Sunday, March 30 from 1 - 3pm
Awards ceremony at 1:30 pm. Invite your family and friends!

EXHIBITION CLOSES

Sunday, April 20 at 4:00 pm

(Gallery hours 12 - 4 pm)

PICK UP OF EXHIBITED WORKS

Monday, April 21, 11 - 5 pm

Tuesday, April 22, 9 - 12 pm 
Bring your artcall confirmation when picking up work. If work is picked up by another person, that documentation will be required. Work that is not picked up will not be stored.
